Crock Pot Thursday Community Meal
Cancelled Until Further Notice
Crock Pot Thursday is part of an Ecumenical ministry that, through the combined effort of our 6 partner Christian churches in North Ridgeville, provides a balanced meal for each of the last seven days of the week each month. Each church provides a meal for one day during that week.
St. Julie serves guests on the last Thursday of the month. All are welcome, no reservations needed!
These no-cost meals are provided for the unemployed, under-employed, elderly, lonely, those in need, and those struggling with disabilities which make cooking difficult. These meals also provide fellowship within our church community.
What can a Volunteer do?
Volunteer once, or frequently! Volunteers for this ministry sign up for a specific task for the current month - there is no long-term obligation, though many people volunteer each month. Tasks include:
-
Cook the menu items at home (using recipes provided) and deliver it in a Crock pot
-
Purchase and drop off food for other dishes to be assembled the day of the meal
-
Set up the room
-
Serve the meal
-
Clean up the dining area and kitchen
Volunteers sign up in shifts, starting at 1 p.m. on the day of the dinner for set-up and food prep, and 5 p.m. to get the serving line ready and serve guests; some arrive later to help with clean up. Volunteers eat a meal after our guests are served.
Monetary donation are always welcome, and are used to purchase paper products for serving the meal.
Sign-up sheets for volunteers, food donations, or monetary donations are in the church lobby.
If you are planning to volunteer for a particular month, please do sign up. It helps us tremendously with planning for the day.

Putting it all together.
These women are part of the Crock Pot Team. They take all of the food items, donated by parishioners, and make a scrumptious meal for our guests.
Heinen's Grocery Store donates flowers for centerpieces every month!
