Parish Clustering

As mandated by the bishop, all parishes in the Cleveland diocese  have been in dialogue for the past four years with each other to determine the best pastoral planning to meet the challenges of our secular society. All parishes formed committees to study issues of population change, staffing, finances, schools, and all pastoral programs. After two years of study, every cluster group submitted to the bishop in the fall of 2008, a proposal with several options. . . to merge two or more parishes, to close a parish, or to cluster two or more parishes while keeping each one’s identity and mission.

In the spring of 2009 all pastors received their reply from the bishop. Our parish and
St. Peter parish are to remain open, active, and vibrant. While not involved in any planning for parish consolidation, both parishes are making substantive and serious commitments to ongoing collaboration that will strengthen pastoral care and evangelization. This will require the support and commitment of both pastors, pastoral staff, lay leaders and parishioners. We are currently collaborating i
n the areas of Liturgy, Youth Ministry, Evangelization, and School Support.
